I had no idea what this was about when I started reading it, but I ended up loving it. The beginning was a little slow and seemed to lack a plot, with Danny going about his daily routine. Things started to pick up about halfway through the novel, and we heard more about his parents' history.

The ending of this book was my favorite chapter, and it almost made me cry. It was a fitting conclusion to a harrowing novel about globalization, pregnancy, and suicide, as well as daily high school issues.

Overall, I found this book to be enjoyable. One aspect of the book that has stayed with me is the prose. Kelley Loy Gilbert has a way of writing that makes you want to keep reading even though there isn't a storyline. Her prose is light and breezy, and the pages fly by.

It's one of those books that leaves you speechless when you finish it. To fully comprehend it, you must think about it afterward.
