At one point in the sample, Danny and his friends visit an art showing, and he describes how the art is projected in layers, making everything look different depending on where you're standing. I think that's a good metaphor for the book itself, or at least the few chapters I read. Danny talked about, as a young artist, how he thought his job was to peel back the outside and find the true heart of a person, when in reality we're all made up of layers, shifting and changing based on who we're with or who's viewing us. Overall, it was a very intriguing start to the book, and I was not ready for the sample to end! I cannot wait to read this book!
