This book was super powerful for me since didn't know anything about what was happening in the Philippines before hand. This helped keep me interested and it made what Jay was feeling feel more real.
This book was for the most part pretty fast pasted although I did feel like there were some parts in the middle that seemed to drag on a bit but the mystery surrounding Jun also helps keep you wanting to read because you really want to know what happened to him and why it happened.
This book had me crying at the end and it made me really think about how well we know people and if us not knowing everything about them really changes what we do know. At the end of the day Jun still did not deserve what he got, his heart was in the right place even if he made some mistakes along the way.
