Usually when I read, I enjoy a story and then jump right into the next one. This book is an exception. I couldn't start a new one right away because I was still reflecting on Patron Sants of Nothing. Every once in awhile, that happens; I read a book and it rings so true or has such an emotional center that I can't just move on immediately.

The United States is starting to uncover truths that some of our citizens have known for a long while; that equality is just a word for people of color. When abuse is covered up and ignored by the rest of the world, it erases an important part of the culture. In the novel, the main character Jay -- a high school graduate about to go to college -- learns his cousin has gone missing in the Philippines, he's not about to let the loss go by unnoticed.

Jay's journey to find answers is emotional and gripping. You won't want to miss it.
