Patron Saint of Nothing is such a quick and easy read that I can recommend it to any and everyone. It’s great to see such a new perspective in young adult literature that can represent so many of its readers not only due to one’s ethnicity or gender, but through the universal storytelling that deal with acceptance and family. This novel is a great addition to the Young Adult contemporary genre with a Plethora of learning opportunities. The main character is a unique and special character for people of all ages. A relatable coming of age story that holds a universal notion of finding one’s identity, the difficulties of family life, forgiveness, acceptance, and growing up. Regardless of one’s culture, everyone can find something or someone to relate to.
