Pretty good
⭐⭐⭐/5:
- Patron Saints of Nothing - I kept reading and really hoping to enjoy it, but really it felt how I imagine a book would be written to fit the caption, "beating a dead horse." The book read like it contained a lot of repetitive, boring filler. I'm a bit disappointed.
Though I really like the cover design, Philippines flag design in the background, I really didn't understand the rest of it and how it correlated with the story.
In the end, I'm left curious about the history and current events in the Philippines. The story was nothing I expected, but it wasn't a bad book overall, and I do still think about it, and it's got me thinking about other things. This is how I hope books will affect me, besides entertainment.
