One event can change everything you think you know.

This isn't my usual genre, but I find the story very compelling. A teenager learns of the brutal death of his Filipino cousin, and everything he thought he understood about life turns on its head. He doesn't understand why his parents aren't more upset, why they're so willing to say, "we're just respecting what his family wants." He needs to know more, and it changes everything for him. I've got to read this book!
