I have heard about this book for a while, and I know it's going to be a smash hit. Equal parts beautiful and ugly, it's hard to not get caught up in Jay's world--especially when it gets torn apart. I can't imagine this will be a light read, considering we're heading right to the epicenter of the war on drugs, but it's an important one. Sometimes we take for granted where we live and the opportunities it affords us. Jay's journey may be a fictional one, but it's one that most readers--especially anyone with an interest in the Philippines' ongoing humanitarian crisis--should take.
