Wow! What an attention grabber. Not sure what to make of it, though. Like an Alaskan "Triangle" or paranormal like "The Fog?" The excerpt is just enough "bait" to get you hooked and wanting more. It will be interesting to read what happens next and find out what happened to those people that went missing.
