The fist thing that caught attention right away was the cover!!! Wow, can I just say how eerie it looks, so cold feeling and ghost like imagery, and the coloring of black, white, gray with pop of red just adds to your hand wanting to pick it up and discover what it has to say.
Reading Our Last Echoes: the writing style, the telling of the story, the storyline, the feeling you get from some of the characters played out in my head like a movie Stephen King, Tim Burton and Alfred Hitchcock would co-collaborate to create. I loved the Exhibits mixed into book because it added to the story and were written differently that gave you a spook factor at just the write time to keep you wanting to keep reading.
From the start of Our Last Echo, with a "note", you get drawn into wanting to know answers to questions. Who is Dr. Ashford? What audio and visual files, and who is on them? What are the Ashford files? Who is Sophia Novak?
Well this is her story of her mom's disappearance and her journey to Bitter Rock, Alaska as Sophia Hayes to find answers. As stories from the island come out, you keep getting pulled into getting little pieces of Our Last Echo telling bits and pieces of the puzzle that give you more questions to find the answers to.
