Ophelia After All is a queer coming of age that one for the books (literally!) Thank you to BookishFirst for the Advanced Reader Copy.

Ophelia gets dumped by her boyfriend right before her prom. Should be a massive blow for any teenage girl right? However, Ophelia realizes she misses her ex-boyfriend less and is starting to notice Talia Sanchez more.

On top of all these questions, she is starting to go through the normal changes we go through in High School - friend drama, discovering who we are and trying to keep our loved ones' version of who we are all in the balance.

I realized loved this book because the author handled the core battle of the character's queer identity while balancing her cultural identity. I don't feel like she was unable to identify because she was Latin - I felt like it added a layer to the complexity and that layer was so well explained.

4/5 stars!
