First, what I liked: The romance between Gene and Patty McClellan starts out sweet. I like how the timeline jumps around to build suspense. I'm curious to find out what happened and how she ripped Gene's heart apart.
But, I'm squeamish about medical procedures. This had way too many descriptions of surgery and procedures for my taste. Since Gene wants to be a doctor, I'm guessing that will continue throughout the book. So this isn't the book for me.
