I’m honestly not sure why I requested this book because it’s really not something that I usually read. I guess I thought I would just try it out and see how I would like it, and unfortunately I didn’t. It was an interesting story and I actually learned a lot about the history of the events. I just couldn’t get into it and was very bored and uninterested in what would happen. The writing style as adequate but nothing that really stood out. It was also very repetitive like the author was just trying to get more pages into the book and a lot of it felt unnecessary. I think that this book would be a lot more interesting and compelling to someone who lived during this time or has an Italian heritage.
