Oh goodness, where to begin. My grandfather came from the Naples area, so when I first read the "First Look" I knew that this is a book I would want to read. He passed away when I was very young, so I did not have the opportunity to talk with him about what life was like for him growing up, nor how it felt to leave his country that I knew he loved so much.

Elsa is such a beautiful person and who tries to see the positive in a situation where it would be hard to. We did not learn nearly as much growing up about life was like during WWII. I was rooting for both her and Paul throughout the whole book and I felt like I was there with them.

This was a beautifully written story, and I am sure one that everyone should read. I am so thankful that Ralph Webster was able to share this tremendous story of his grandmother's courage and love. I can't wait to read his other book as well!
