I found the cover and Chapter One to be very intriguing which makes me extremely curious about this book. I want to read the rest of the story. It is 1934 and the Great Depression has spread to Europe and there is a madness going on in their native Germany. Everything seems to be falling apart including Paul’s tartarari business and they are having financial difficulties. Elsa appears to be a strong women and wants to help turn things around. She decides to become a breadwinner alongside her husband Paul and they buy a pensione that will be Elsa’s responsibility. This should be a an exciting book as we see these characters struggle through WW II under the rule of Mussolini and his many restrictions. Will they be able to escape persecution?
