Now I'm always a sucker for a murder mystery read as if it's straight from Criminal Minds. This is the author's debut novel and the premise is definitely interesting. The main character, Detective Tully Jarsdel, is called to the scene of a murder for a dead body that's been discovered and believed to be a ritualistic killing. The detective and his partner is tasked with trying to find the murderer and it gets darker and darker as they get more involved with the case. Interesting premise, but I found some of the author's writing style to not be my favorite. Right at the start I found the lengthy and detailed descriptions given to be unnecessary or so much that i would just skim and continue on to points of the plot.
