This was definitely a uniquely written police procedural. Tully and Morales were interesting characters and I found myself greatly invested in the story and their reactions. The writing was accessible and didn’t use any unnecessary prose to get the point across.
I loved the setting of the streets of Los Angeles. It was interesting to see behind the scenes of rookies pairing with veterans to solve a homicide.
Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys shows like CSI and Blue Bloods. It takes you to the heart of what us really happening. I was surprised that this is a debut novel because the writer seems very comfortable and definitely pulls you into the story. Very well written!
