This was a great mystery with interesting characters. The beginning of the book is a real reader hook, catching the reader immediately. Such pacing is often hard to maintain, but this author managed to keep the thrills coming.

The styles of the two are so different - one a macho, masculine, old-school detective, the other a former college professor - the two are the human equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. They've only been partners a short while, but solving this is going to need something they don't have with each other: trust.
