This book is average when compared to the normal cop / suspense dramas. The main character is a misunderstood cop, the partner may or may not be a friend and coworker, the murdered individual has something that makes it unique, and the story has a lot of filler that does not do much to move the story along.

Like most of these stories, the death is a curiosity and it does make me want to continue to figure out what is going on. And when the author has the characters speak to each other, the pace is good and the action interesting. It is when the author tries to fill in other parts of the story that it gets longwinded and a bit boring.

If you are into these types of books, you will not be disappointed. But if you are tired of this type of book, then this will not be for you.
