Really exciting-you feel like you are there

The cover caught my attention. I love a good cop story. It seemed to be so well written that when the short excerpt ended, it was a disappointment. The characters are well drawn and are realistic. Det. Tully is a former professor who seems to be very smart, yet he feels he's on a mission to make the world better. His partner, Morales does not get along too well with Tully. Morales is rather cynical and profane. He calls him "Professor" even though Tully is not fond of that name. The body that is found by Sparks has been dumped by a Thai pagoda. It has been burned in an unusual manner and it may be difficult to figure out who the man is and why he was killed.The story seems to draw you in and you feel as if you are right there on the street, where everything happened.
