Some of the easiest 5 stars I have ever given a novel.

The book is set upon the River Thames, and begins with a stranger staggering into The Swan at Radcot, a local inn, carrying a young girl, who appears at first to many to be a doll. It is, however, a girl and she appears to have drowned and died. When the local nurse comes to check on the stranger and the girl, the girl mysteriously comes back to life. The novel is an homage to storytelling and how this young girl impacts the lives and stories of those at The Swan.

I loved this book and could not stop comparing the beautiful magical realism to another of my all-time favorites, The Night Circus. The writing is lyrical and creates a beautiful atmosphere. The characters are all developed and the perspectives engaging.
