Joe and Margot own the Swan. Margot married Joe because she loved his stories, they had many children. Then a stranger and a drowned girl show up at the Swan. And that's the first chapter.
Great world building. I loved Setterfield's descriptions, it lent well to the storybook atmosphere.
There any many different story themes and storybook elements in this book. Almost makes you feel like you're reading something written a long time ago. It really draws you into the story.
The characters seem well rounded, and the writing is good, the story interesting.
I am excited to read it when it comes out. Definitely something I'll recommend.
