With such a beautiful cover and a great sounding synopsis, I had pretty high hopes for this books. But, unfortunately, I was let down and very disappointed with this book. What seems to start portico with beautiful prose, turns into nonsense and redundant tale telling that just takes you in circles and never leads you anywhere. The battered man carrying the little girl who was dead, and then wasn't. The eye witness, the tale. Okay, weird, but let's see where it goes. It goes to...someone else telling the tale that they half saw and half heard. Okay...
Then it goes to someone else telling a tale and .....wait. Why? Why am I hearing the same thing over and over and over again?? I get it. I read the sequence myself, I don't need to read it again and again and again by different, random characters telling the tale. This book went nowhere, was super redundant, and so long. I was bored out of my mind from the first chapter.
