More than just a gorgeous cover
After writing one book I loved and one book that I very much did not, I was curious to see what Setterfield would write next and what my reaction to it would be. Thankfully she remains on my list of authors I will scan lists of upcoming releases hoping to see.
This book begins with a child rescued from a river and brought to an inn filled with storytellers. The tale of her apparent resurrection spreads and brings together those who may have a claim on her. Part fairy tale, part mystery, the narrative twists and turns through the stories of a fantastic cast of characters before bringing it all together again. My only complaint is that it is a tad overly long. Some of the middle could have easily been cut without hurting the immersive experience of the book.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
