Once Upon a river is a folklore mixed story that starts at night at an inn where stories are being told. All the sudden a stranger burst through the door with a lifeless small child. When the girl finally takes a breath they wonder if it's a miracle or just magic. Just hearing what this book is about made me instantly pick it up. The beginning is so magical you feel like you have been time warped into the inn. When the girl wakes up she cant talk leading to no answered questions. You follow three families that claim the girl is there but how will we know. The stories we follow are so magical and whimsical you cant help but feel involved! This book was so amazing I instantly picked up her other works and they are just as good. I highly recommend!
