There is nothing not gorgeous about this book! The cover alone is striking and the writing within the covers is even more so!
I have enjoyed Settlefield’s work in the past and this novel was no different. I enjoyed how she was able to so seamlessly blend some genres together, making the story feel authentic despite the historical and magical moments.
Much like the title and imagery of the cover suggest, this book feels almost like a fairy tale and, though the movement of the story can feel heavy at times, it is worth the time it takes to read it. It is only because of the painstaking and generous descriptions that Settlefield uses to bring the reader into this world that it begins to feel slow.
