This was a beautiful story about a mysterious girl that connects three families together. I loved the writing. It made you feel like you were right there in the story. I felt like I was reading an intricate fairytale. It is historical fiction crossed with a mystery with added splashes of magical realism.
The premise hooked me, but the moment I started reading it, I could not put it down. The story is a little slow in the middle, but the writing kept me entranced. There's not really any satisfaction for the mystery to be "solved," but that is not the point of the story. It is a slow, gentle story that makes you question the line between reality and the supernatural. I loved this story, and any fans of historical fiction, magical realism, and fantasy will love it too.
