I was excited to read my first Diane Setterfield book. This author is an absolutely amazing storyteller. This author has such a way with words - I found this book to be a mix of historical mystery, folk tale and a supernatural touch. I loved her character development - she has really brought the characters in this book to life. I really enjoyed this book and found it extremely hard to put down. This book was easily one of my favorites. I am excited to go back and read other books by Diane Setterfield. I was initially intrigued by this book simply by the cover before I even knew what it was about. Once I started reading - I was hooked by this enthralling book. I highly recommend this book!
