5 stars for being unique
Once Upon A River is about the Thames River and the people, places, and stories that surround it. It is a book about miracles, mysteries, and magic. As well as love, loss, betrayal, and grief. There is one thing throughout that connects them all, and that is the river.
I am going to be completely honest here, the pace of this book made it really hard for me to get into, I almost quit a few chapters in. However, I kept reading and ended up really enjoying the plot and characters. There are just enough twist and turns to keep you reading, but if you have ADD like I do, the writing style might cause difficulty.
So I am torn.
As a whole, I give it 3 stars. It was good, but not great. I still recommend reading this book, as it is truly unique.
