𝘖𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘗𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳 is part historical fiction and part cozy murder mystery. (Do the words cozy and murder really go together? Haha!) I really thought I was going to enjoy this one much more than I did. It felt a bit confused to me. The two genres never seemed to mesh in a way that made the story flow. I think I was expecting more of the historical fiction aspect to come through but this really focused more on the murder mystery.

Too much going on in this one for me. Too many supporting characters to keep track of. Too many random details and unnecessary plot points that didn't move the main storyline along. This is totally personal preference but I'm starting to find that cozy murder mysteries might not be my thing. ⁣

If you're looking for a great historical fiction about the utilization of homing pigeons in WWII, check out The Long Flight Home by Alan Hlad.
