I actually genuinely enjoyed this book. I love the history behind this story, and found that the author was able to keep it interesting and entertaining. Set in the UK during WWII, this book tells of the use of pigeons during the war and the vital role they played. It did take a minute to get to the story, which was a little difficult, and I could have used with a few less descriptions of what I would deem irrelevant things, but I did love the whole concept behind this book, which made me overlook some of those lesser aspects, and the story itself was good. I liked how Olive, the main character, interacted within the book. She’s got spunk and as a character was very likable. The book itself i can only describe as a combination of a murder mystery within a WWII novel with some romantic elements, all of which were well balanced within the story. It’s one I would recommend.
