First off I thought the writing in Olive Bright, pigeoneer was well done. I liked the main character and the small county town where she lives.

Olive lives in a small town during World War II where she is hopeful to enlist her pigeons in the RAF to help with the war effort. Her best friend goes off to war and she's looking for a way to help.

In the middle of all this, she loves reading Agatha Christie novels. This evolves into a murder mystery while still waiting to hear about the enlistment of the pigeons.

I thought the murder mystery was fun but I'd rather learned more about the pigeons and more about life raising pigeons. I did truly love the story though.

I also thought Olive was around 16 years old but later discover she's in her 20s. This seemed really strange but I guess it makes sense as her best friend who was the same age went off to war.

I'd definitely read more from this author in the future.
