In my opinion, Graves missed the mark with this novel. It reads a little bit like “Little Women” with a less intense writing style. I found the book a little too wordy for my liking and while I thought the character was beginning to be developed, It just seem to take too long to get on with the story. By page 45 I still was not sure where the novel was headed and was not interested enough to continue reading to find out. Unfortunately, this novel is not for me. However I have to admit, that there were parts that were so beautifully described that I almost felt like I was reading a book of reflections rather than a mystery novel. Sorry to say that this novel is just not my cup of tea.
