From the get-go, I was excited by this book. There's so much in here that encapsulates my interests as a reader and as a learner. We have a woman in the era of WWII which combines one of my favorite eras to learn about with a strong female character. The main character is also a pigeoneer which I didn't know was a thing in that era but I love it so much. And lastly, covert operations and a murder and a spy ring? Sign me up!
I have never whipped through one of these First Looks as fast as I read through this one. The fast-paced nature of the novel makes this an easy but intriguing read and I cannot get enough of it. Olive Bright is a fantastic character, quick-witted and funny and charismatic. A lot of her resonates with me.
