This preview checks nearly all the boxes on my "comfort reads" checklist! Set in a small English village during WWII with a cast of colorful characters and a tenacious, spunky protagonist Olive Bright, who seems most worthy of her descriptive surname. Throw in references to classic literature, domestic details, and a possible mystery and we have a recipe for a delightful escape read. I am especially looking forward to reading more about Miss Husselbee's snoopy antics.
