Olive Bright is a young woman who wants to do her part for her country during the war. She has just said goodbye to her best friend, George, as he headed to war. She managed to sneak in her best racing pigeon, Poppins, for one last lark (George can now send her at least on uncensored message). Olive promises to have some adventures as she works to be of service however she can.
