Jack’s rags-to-riches status works too. Their story may be over-the-top but it’s possible it could happen in real-life.
The book is short, only having almost 200 pages. On the contrary, their story was well written. Extra pages added and I think it would feel being stretched for the sake of more page count.
I admire Gemma’s has a mind of her own, I’m tired of clingy women but tagged as a strong-willed character. Jack’s anxiety and fears are morally-correct. I’d say their story is heavily character-driven. They are equally interesting.
