This turned out to be a surprising sweet story! This first little bit got me mad about how Simone turned traitor on Evie and how quickly everyone turned on Evie for one little mistake but I did like the underlying message about the dangers of living according to the vagaries of social media and how you should learn to be yourself without their influence. That is what Evie spends the story learning as she goes looking for her grandmother who vanishes without a trace right before a rewards ceremony (well, that and finding out about what real friends are like. Go Milo and his band!).

There is a bit of romance but it is not too heavy and not quite instalove so I liked that. Milo is a cute guy and not perfect. This book has a good message and a satisfying ending and so I recommend this book for a sweet escape.
