Nottingham was an amazing book! I love king Arthur and retellings of the story, but this book had a completely unique take on it. This novel put the story of Robin Hood in a whole different perspective. The book is set in England during the crusades. It is told through the perspectives of three different characters, all on different sides. The book creates a plot that shows the inner workings of the story and demonstrates the crew behind the curtains.Nathan Makaryk tells the story of Nottingham through the lens of politics and history. He offers an explanation to the rise of Robin Hood that gives off a sense of reality and will leave a lasting impression. His take on Lady Marion was fun to read and I loved her character.The writing was amazing and kept my attention the whole way through. I loved the characters and how they felt familiar and so characteristics different. This was the first book by Nathan Makaryk I have read and I want keep reading. The ending left me wanting more, and I want to read more soon. If you love the story of Robin Hood and a good historical fiction book, get this immediately!
