Honestly, I just think I tried to read this book at the wrong time. I had just finished Stephen King's The Stand, so trying to read Nottingham after a big fantastical epic was a bad idea. I really did enjoy the characters Nathan Makaryk adapted; they had interesting motivations, desires, and relationships. I just couldn't handle the pacing of this book right now. I think having so many points of view worked against the story as there were so many little details that I couldn't wrap my brain around. The history itself is interesting, but I am not in the mood for historical fiction at the moment.
I will likely pick this up in the future since I did like the plot and where the story was headed. It just wasn't for me right now and that's okay!
