I titled this review "A Balancing Act" because I think it is truly that. Nottingham is a very unique balance of serious and hilarious. I truly love the hilarity the author sprinkled into the book. As I said, it brings a nice balance to the action and seriousness of the rest of the story.

My favorite part about this story is the character development. I think that the author spends a good amount of time with each character and you really get to know them and exactly what kind of person they are. Feeling like I know each character personally really made the story easier to read and more fun as well because it felt like every time I opened the book, I was jumping right into the action as well. I also like that this book didn't go in any certain order with the characters that tell the story. Each character interjects their part of the story at just the right time and I think that makes the book flow nicely.

I also liked the writing style; it definitely felt like when I was reading, I was in the time period that the book was set in. It truly felt like I was jumping into the story every time I opened the book.

The one complaint I have about the book was that there were parts that were just really slow. I love that the story is so deep and that the author takes his time with the story. But sometimes, it just seemed like there was too much time and that some things could have been left out of the plot.

Overall, this is a great read and it's definitely different than a lot of books that are on the market right now. This is a book I'd definitely recommend!
