A fresh take on an old classic
What immediately appealed to me about this book was its title and the premise - I love retellings of the Robin Hood story, especially ones as rich with detail as this one promises to be.
I absolutely love the character development of King Richard, which is something I rarely see in other retellings. The constant crown switching between the nobles was an intriguing detail that left me wanting to know more about Richard and the way he thinks - a character with a trait that is immediately seen as both a strength and a weakness depending on perspective suggests that the characters have been incredibly developed, and I love character-driven novels.
This definitely seems like a fresh take on an old classic, and I am excited to read the rest.
