I love the plot of this book and the tension between the main characters is palpable. I enjoyed the slow build to their relationship and the description of the scenes in the book. I like the dry humor, I found myself smiling or laughing while reading, and Dru's thoughts are very relatable. Some words I had to google because I did not know them, but most of the book was an easy read. Overall, I did thoroughly enjoy this book, but one weird part was when Drusilla was thinking of how it was possible that Eva could not find her step brother attractive, especially when they had only known each other for 5 years. That made me uncomfortable, that's still her brother. Also Dru's description of Gabriel has fetishizing tones to it using words like exotic, while describing a person is something I recommend staying away from. To describe the juxtaposition between the men Dru is used to seeing and Gabriel, I would say something about how his physical appearance is different, his facial structure, his build, not exotic.
