Notorious is book one in the Rebels of the Ton series and I can't wait to read the next book! While I have never read any historical romances prior to reading this book, I will say that I enjoyed it enough to want to read more in this genre. Witty, tense and romantic, the author was able to convey so many emotions throughout the pages that it kept my attention and left me wanting more.
A strong minded feminist, Drusilla, finds herself unexpectedly smitten with rake Gabriel but never discloses any of that throughout most of the story. Instead she constantly speaks with an irritated tone and sends jabs whenever in conversation with him. They spend their moments snapping and sneering at one another for much of the book. Then, due to extenuating circumstances, Drusilla and Gabriel are set to wed. Although Drusilla does not believe in marriage and feels that women should hold a strong, independent personality, she inevitably finds herself having to marry Gabriel. Slowly walls come down and romance starts to build.
