While the idea behind this was intriguing (5, possibly more, “longevites” or immortals, who having been treated with a mysterious serum on their deathbeds, wrestle with how to live/love among mortals), it was very slow in places and also veered off on random tangents (the Colm storyline was so out-of-the-blue and somehow felt out of place). I wanted more emphasis on the MC (David). Instead I ended up not really connecting with any of the characters. While a very interesting premise, not enough depth of focus for me. On the positive side, I did enjoy watching the faith of the characters grow as they struggled with their “Why Me?” moments and learning to lean more on their trust in God.
If this is a first in series, I’d like to try the next one for more story depth.
