I'm not usually a big fan of self-help/improvement books because the author normally seems to be patting himself on the back and/or wanting to tell you about famous people he has interacted with this. This is not the case with the book. Mike Hayes is a former Navy Seal who later worked in the federal government and private sector. Most of these lessons are based upon being a Seal and his leadership and interactions with those Seals he worked with. I learned things from reading this and I've been around for a long time and been in a leadership role; made me wish I had done some things differently. He identifies some Seals by name and tells their story through his interaction with them. I especially liked what he learned and shared from applying to be a White House Fellow. Mike Hayes is definitely a guy that I would like to sit down with, have coffee and talks about life experiences and lessons learned.
