At first look, this book caught my eye as an inspirational debut told from a perspective very much unlike my own. This book serves as a collection of stories from a former navy seal, each story serving a point or concept of valuable lessons learned in the field.
Working in the public sector of Information Technology myself, I wanted to give this one a read to offer a fresh perspective that would also be applicable to my line of work: risk, governance, and civility. As part of my position in the public sector, my job is considered a public service, with each agency being potential "customers". Security and governance principles can be applied to the IT field when it comes down to establishing policies, procedures, and building/maintenance of infrastructure. That being said, it brings to light a combination of stories and guiding principles that hold lessons to be learned that everyone can apply in their daily lives to be better and strive for more.
