This was a different book from what I usually read. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to read it. I decided to try just one chapter and if it didn’t hold my attention, then I’ll stop. Well one chapter turned to two and then to three and before I knew it, I had finished the book.
I knew from his background that Mike Hayes was a guy who got things. He was in the Navy Seals, worked in the White House. First impression for me was a very straight lived by the rule book kind a guy. I honestly expected him to come across as preachy type or even condescending. He doesn’t though. His words are sincere and you can tell he wants his words to impact the reader in a positive way. This isn’t a book about the military per say. It’s more the story of reminding everyone that decisions are not easy. He explains that the while the results of the decisions are important so is the HOW and WHY that decision was made. It’s a read that hooks you!
