This is an amazing story. This kind of woke up my inner child. Playful yet mysterious and haunting. How can someone accomplish this perfect combination? Bullying is included which is interesting, Filomena is bullied for her ethnic background which is terrible but adds more to the story. Right off the bat you feel bad for and shes almost killed by a creature from one of her favorite book series!!? I also like the going back and forth between the worlds.The plot was cute and I loved the writing style. Though the plot did move really fast i still enjoyed it. I liked how the fairy tales were twisted.Filomena is a strong brave female lead despite only being twelve LOL. She has a strong bond with her family which is so rare in books and I LOVE IT.This book is definitely for all ages, I feel like this book would lean towards middle schoolers, but thats just my opinion.
