I definitely really enjoyed this excerpt but I’m not sure if it’s for a young age range. I like YA but don’t really read childrens and I’m not sure which this will read like. I bought one book by this author that was definitely for a younger crowd. But this is definitely well written and I love the storyline. If I win it and it’s too you for me then I think my niece and nephews would love it.
This book starts with a prologue about a princess being raised by her father and very recent stepmother, there is some shady stuff going on regarding her mother’s death and her father remarrying so quickly. The princess us actually a newborn baby and her mother was a fairy.
Then we meet Filomena. She’s twelve, she’s adopted and she has very overprotective parents. They warn her about being kidnapped. She’s going to the bookstore to buy the final book in her favorite book series. It’s the 13th book. When she shows up, she finds out the book is not there. It’s also never going to be released. The author is missing. Can you imagine? This would be a nightmare.
On the way out of the store she notices someone is following her…it just might be someone from the book.
